Woodley were the visitors to Wooburn Park on Sunday 29th May and Jeff won the toss and decided to have a bat. Smally was just settling down to watch some golf when Dave Jordan was bowled second ball. Smally and Manoj batted well, adding 80 before Manoj fell in the 15th over. Jeff and Smally hit a flurry of boundaries before the latter was caught and bowled for 72. Jeff and Matt Curtis kept the score moving along and Wooburn were finally 182 all out in the 40th over.
Tom Lees-Fitzgibbon took an early wicked and bowled beautifully, and with Jeff at the other end taking two, Woodley were soon 23-3. Only Stanley (39 not out) offered any resistance with Wahleed and Matt Seager taking a wicket each. Tom Lees-Fitzgibbon was reintroduced and took another two wickets and Woodley were hanging on for the draw. Arran Shearer bowled his first overs for Wooburn and after a shaky start, found himself on a hat trick! Woodley managed to hold out the final 4 overs and finished 115-9 to give Wooburn much the better of a draw.
