ABOUT THE CLUB

Wooburn Narkovians Cricket Club is based in the village of Wooburn Green in south Buckinghamshire. The Club was founded in 1936, and is now firmly established in the Thames Valley area.

The Club fields two sides on Saturdays and one on Sundays. The Saturday 1st XI currently compete in Division 3A of the Thames Valley League, while the 2nd XI are in Division 5 of the same League. The Sunday XI play friendly matches.

Facilities include a picturesque ground and pavilion, a 13 strip square, and three practice pitches. The ground is located at the far end of Wooburn Park, just a short walk from the village green.

The majority of our playing members and colts are drawn from the surrounding villages of Wooburn Green, Flackwell Heath and Bourne End, but we do have a small number of players who travel some distance to continue turning out for the Narks.

A large percentage of our senior players have come up through the colts section, and the Club continues to place a big emphasis on colts cricket. Surrounded as we are by a number of larger clubs, we consider our colts to be the future of the club, and they are given every encouragement.

The Club is always looking for new playing and social members. If you have just moved into the area, or want to join a friendly local club, come along. It doesn't matter whether your interest is in playing, scoring, umpiring or simply watching, we would be delighted to see you.
